What could we do with layered structures with just the right layers?

What would the properties of materials be if we could really arrange the atoms the way we want them?

I can hardly doubt that when we have some control of the arrangement of things on a small scale, we will get an enormously greater range of possible properties that substances can have, and of different things that we can do.

Lecture “There’s Plenty of Room at the Bottom” 1959

These days, we are experiencing Feynman's vision coming true, and we can arrange these 2D layers in the way we want.

Our group is driven by the compelling vision, which centers on three main research objectives.

1) We are dedicated to designing and producing cutting-edge materials using 2D semiconductors.

2) We focus on exploring novel and exceptional optical and electrical properties related to these materials.

3) We aim to spearhead the development of next-generation optoelectronic devices and systems based on our findings.

To achieve these ambitious research goals, our approach emphasizes the importance of collaboration and the convergence of diverse backgrounds and expertise. By fostering interdisciplinary cooperation, we strive to create a ripple effect that will make significant contributions to academia and have a lasting impact on the industry.
